ABOUT THE ARTIST

I was born in the French-speaking city of St. Boniface, Manitoba, the firstborn of a Metis father and a first-generation French Canadian mother. From 1975 until 1989, I trained and worked as a Taxidermist. In the summer of 1989, I started painting wildlife and prairie landscapes. I experimented on plywood, masonite, paper, and canvas, using various mediums. Over time, my style evolved into abstract painting. This allowed me to enjoy the freedom to express concepts, ideas, and emotions — “A Conceptual Abstract Artist.”
During the 1990’s, I met several prairie artists who influenced and encouraged me to continue exploring and experimenting. These artists included: Roger Lafreniere, Hubert Theroux, Peter Dumans, and Guy St. Godard.
I’m a naturalist and enjoy hiking, canoeing, exploring Canada’s wilderness, and harvesting her wild food. Currently, I am a retired carpenter and handyman, a part-time School Bus driver, and an artist living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
